Automatic- it tells your camera on how to get the best judgement. It gives you a nice result.
Portrait- it chooses the largest aperture. It keeps your background out of focus.
Macro- it lets you take close up pictures. You wouldn’t want to have the flash on when taking a close up picture.
Landscape- it makes sure that the picture your taking is being focus as much as possible.
Action- it works with moving objects.
Night- this mode uses a longer shutter speed to capture some details in background but it also uses the flash to illuminate the subject.
Movie- this mode captures still and moving images.
